He didn't move when she came closer, a part of him craved the nearness in fact. It was a constant battle where Selina was concerned - wanting her nearer, yet knowing all the reasons why she shouldn't be. As much as he had missed her over the last six months, her disappearance had probably been a good thing, for both of them.
And yet, now that she was back, it was like she hadn't been gone at all, and nothing had changed between them.
And without her? How to answer her question. Gotham certainly hadn't been dull, she hadn't been boring. Gotham never lacked for activity or color. But there had been something lacking, something that made the world a little dimmer, a little lacking in... something unnameable, just because he knew she wasn't in it.
"Gotham is always trouble," he answered. "Maybe a little less... interesting without you in it." He left the word open to her interpretation.
