Mia and open yay Who: Mia and Open to the Arrowhouse? (This means Ollie, Roy, or Connor should answer this cuteness.) NPC: Lian Where: Arrow basement When: August 2 What: Mia and Lian have preschool level sparring session.
Lian was already very quick on her feet. She was smart and fearless, and she actually knew quite a bit about what they did and how they did that, and she’d learned a lot too. Still she was just four years old.
So when she’d told Mia she wanted to work out like she did. Mia took her downstairs to the mat. She’d even put some tape on her hands because that’s what Mia did whenever she worked on fighting.
Mia sat back on her haunches and held her hands out with the pads on them. Lian was pretty strong for a four year old, but it was the strength of a four year old. Really this got her more into good habits. Habits she forgot when she was overexcited.
Lian’s face was scrunched up in concentration as she held a fist up by her head. “Now, sweetie. Remember thumb on the outside.” Lian checked her hand. “Okay, try it.” Lian aimed for the pad on Mia’s hand and hit as hard as her little body could do so.
“That was good, but remember your whole body.” She said pulling the pads off quickly and putting her hands on the girls hips.
It wasn’t long before they worked up a pretty good rhythm. Little Lian noises could be heard and Mia even gently tagged back at her.
They worked for a while, and finally Mia knocked Lian on her butt with an oomph. Lian looked a bit shocked for a fraction of a second before she was overcome with giggles as Mia tickled the girls sides to quickly help her recover from any bruised ego from Mia’s sneak attack.
“Hey! Stop!” Lian finally managed out in between her giggled and squirming. Mia held a hand out to help the girl up.
“Get up here, monkey butt.” She said with a smile. “Now, I’ve said it before, but I’m serious. Rules are good so you don’t hurt people when you practice with your friends, but if someone comes at you, what do you do?”
“I’m ‘posed to kick them in between their legs and scream and hit and bite and pull hair.” Lian responded as if it was something she’d been asked by Mia several times. “And if I need to throw,” she looked around carefully before continuing like she didn’t want to get in trouble for saying something she wasn’t supposed to before saying the next word in a whisper. “Effing sand in their eyes.”
“Good girl.” Mia smiled. “Now, lets work on some kicks.”
