It had been some time since Fury had seen Lois but not much had changed. Still just as beautiful and still as in control as she'd always been. She didn't hide feelings, she embraced them and let them get her out of tough situations. It was one of the reasons he respected her. That and she could smell bullshit a mile away. So the general wouldn't insult her intelligence and play games with her.
"That I would, Miss Lane. Or is it Kent now?" Fury smiled, placing a hand on the desk at his side. "And actually it's General or Director depending on who is addressing me." Fury pushed off from the desk and turned to regard the woman before him. His hands slipped casually into his pockets.
"And you, Lois. Just as beautiful as always." The corner of his eye crinkled and the edge of his lips quirked up at her. "I was hoping you could play match maker. Get me an introduction with that boy scout keeping your paper afloat." His tone was cool and neutral but to someone like Lois, who knew him when he was younger, it was a glimpse at the man that he use to be. He was here on official business, sure. But that did not mean he couldn't enjoy it. "I was hoping it wouldn't have to come to putting a cat in a tree."
