Who: Nick Fury & OT Lois Lane Where: The Daily Planet When: April 16, 2012; Morning What: Nick Fury wants to talk to Superman. And that involves talking to one other person first. Rating: PG
The Avengers Initiative. It had been building to this for a while and Nick Fury was not surprised when the President had given the okay to the D.O.D. to proceed forward. In fact it had been Fury's involvement that allowed the operation to pass in the first place. The President understood Fury and his experience and knew that the General would do what was in the best interest of the nation. The President had even gone out of his way to make sure that the SHIELD Director had full control of the initiative. It was now his baby and of course he had to see it through.
And it was this that brought Nicholas Fury to Metropolis in the first place. There were only two people in the world that absolutely had to be on this team, at least in Fury's eye. The first was already spoken for and right now the Super Solider was training at a SHIELD facility. The second.. well.. the second was perhaps the most awe inspiring man in existence. And he just so happened to be married to an old acquaintance of his.
"Welcome to the Daily Planet sir may I--" Fury turned that eye onto the security guard and the man fell silent. Fury just had that way about him. Striding forward, Fury paused to key the elevator button. The ride up was spent in silence thanks to the merciful gods that had forbidden Musak on the elevator. Fury disembarked into utter chaos. Or at least it seemed that way to the un-trained eye. A soldier and veteran of the battlefield, it didn't take long for Nick to categorize what transpired in front of him. The newsroom was ordered chaos. With a rueful smirk he proceeded forward, his gaze sweeping over each desk until he found the woman he was looking for.
Nick paused a moment to look over Ms. Lane-Kent's shoulder before he pressed on and sat on the edge of her desk. "Transpired has only one 'i' Ms. Lane." Nicholas looked down to her with that amused expression of his. It was up to her to get the joke.
