“Mmhmm, a warm, bubbly pool with water jets…” she giggled, kissing him back before shaking her head. “You could learn how to do it, sexy...not that I would ever fall for it, but you know…” She spun them around so that she was using him as a raft, laying against his chest. “And yes, it’s measurable. It’s scientific even…”
She patted his chest, running her nails lightly over the flesh before looking up at him. “So when are you abandoning me to go back to New York?”
--
“Scientific? I’ll look that up in my terminology book. And I doubt I could pull off the puppy dog eyes the way you can, so I’m not even going to try. Plus, I mean, the fact you have gorgeous eyes already doesn’t help,” kissing her as she crawled up atop him again, floating in the water while staring back at her.
Sighing a bit, he thought a moment, “I have no idea, I really don’t want to, but I suppose eventually the city will need Spider-Man again, plus I’ll need a change of clothes, and also… you know, school and work.”
--
“It will totes be there,” she said, giggling. She sighed as he spoke about her eyes, rubbing them. “Speaking of my eyes,” she muttered, climbing out of the tub, leaning over the counter to better see her eyes, gently pulling out two small contacts before she reached into a drawer, sliding something onto her face.
“Now, no laughing,” she muttered, turning around, revealing she was wearing a pair of glasses. She climbed back into the water, laying against him again, pouting. “What if I don’t want you to go?”
--
Raising a brow when she turned around, his hand just trailed along her back before shrugging as he leaned back. Then laughed when she turned back around, not laughing at her though, more at the fact she thought he would, “Why would I laugh at you? You’re still sexy, and might even manage to bring out the sexy nerd girl with those on. Still, also, I wear glasses too you know. Usually contacts, but sometimes my dad’s glasses.”
He shrugged, and drew her back towards him with another kiss, “Well then you’re going to have to find someway of getting all my clothes here, getting me an A in all of my classes without me actually going, and then of course you’ll have to pay me to be your house-boyfriend. Which I’m not sure if I’m okay with being a prostitute.”
--
“I can easily get your clothes, you don’t have to go to class except for finals and mid-terms and I could totes pay you,” she said, grinning up at him, leaning in to kiss him eagerly, lapping at his lower lip, giggling.
“Well...if you won’t stay here...maybe I’ll do something else,” she thought, turning it over in her mind. Maybe..it was time for a change again, after all, this had been where she shared a life with Tim...with memories everywhere.
Maybe...she needed to find a new path.
--
“Oh? Like what? We don’t have any bat families in New York you know, and I don’t generally take on sponsorships like TGIFridays. I mean, spider-themed restaurants just wouldn’t really sit very well with some folks. So, you know how it goes and all. Also, totally not into talking like I have just swallowed a gallon of glass. It’d be a big change.”
He grinned, still, hand brushing against her back as he kissed her in return then shrugged, “And all of that sounds mighty appealing, but New York still needs Spider-Man. Gotham’s got plenty here, but all of them in New York? They go after the big stuff, kind of ignore the petty stuff.” --
“Umm, Peter, I lived in New York for almost a year...I also still own an apartment there,” she pointed out, before looking down and away. “But it sounds as if you don’t want me there, so I guess things will remain as they are.” She was speaking softly, slightly hurt that he didn’t want her closer to him in any way.
Maybe he had another girlfriend and didn’t want her to find out about Effie? Or didn’t want Effie to be in his city? Or didn’t want his booty call to cramp his lifestyle?
