Loki fixed his green eyes on her tablet, looking at it with more than passing interest. That's... No, I don't think it's familiar. But there's a ghost of... something. He frowned, brow pinching, then looked up quickly when she asked about school.
"Oh, no, I've never been to school, at least not that I am aware. This is for a puzzle. When one is working on vague riddles, one can search in written words. Words will often shed light on such things, or at least help you to start thinking of connections you might not otherwise link. This seemed a good place to start." He hesitated, then shrugged. "Also I am probably less annoying here."
He pulled the bird book back to himself, flipped it open to a Magpie rhyme, then opened to the point in Norse legends that had to do with the Ravens, frowned and pushed it away, open as well. The next book he pulled down was on antiques, specifically on locks and keys. This one he started flipping through much more carefully, but still swiftly. "Though I suppose the quick riddle here is why do you lug boring books about? If you do not like them and don't need them till September especially.." He looked up, then made a small O with his mouth and grinned. "That means they're obligatory books, the worse kind of reading, where they're not your pick. But you brought them because you thought you might wade through their ponderous words while enjoying coffee and studious airs--and have now changed your mind about what you will read."
