Before he could get started, the motion detectors he had installed over the last few days went off in the room, the light (no alarms) flashing to warn him. He got up and moved over to the monitor. Turning it on his eyes narrowed when he caught sight of Natasha and a stranger breaking in. He turned from the monitor and headed to his weapons, quickly putting them back on. He then grabbed his M5 assault rifle and moved out into the hall. The house was large (it had formerly been a mansion). He moved to the balcony since he was on the second floor and he took careful aim at Natasha.
He steadied his aim and was about to pull the trigger to hit her in the abdomen when a flash of light ran across the stranger's face and chest. He winced as memories flooded his head, the bullet firing out of the gun at the same time and hitting the floor just in front of their feet. He cursed silently and quickly began moving positions. He wasn't going to leave this place until his memories were removed or he was dead.
