Teddy had been confused when his key had locked the door rather than opening it, so she had plenty of warning that he was 'home' by the shaking of the door and retrying the lock. He entered awkwardly, fumbling with books, notes he'd apparently been writing as he was walking across the lawn, phone that had a new text on it, and a bag with milk, fresh spinach, and chips. "Oh hey! I'm glad your-." He dropped his phone, tried to stoop to get it, bag sliding off. He gave up on it and let it fall. He used his foot to scoot it toward the door, letting the notebook fall by it before moving to the kitchen to drop off groceries. "-Here. I meant to call you to see if you wanted to hang out somewhere and nah, it's fine. Sorry for the mess. Summer courses are already trying to kill me. Only saving grace is half of them are online." He neared the coffee table with interest. "Ooh, earl gray? I love me some early gray."
He sat down on the couch next to her. "I really am glad to see you. We've all been missing you." Teddy was trying to open the conversation up as gently as possible, but there was no doubt where he was likely going with it.
