Bruce took immense pleasure from seeing the shock on Hal's face after the mask came off, and waited patiently for him to say something. Anything. It took a while, and his response wasn't entirely unexpected, but Bruce snorted nevertheless, and raised an eyebrow.
Continuing to speak in Batman's voice, he hazarded a guess as to Hal's problem with his identity. "A flaw. You mean that you see Bruce Wayne as a useless Lothario, with neither the intelligence, nor the skill, to be Batman? Or that Batman doesn't have the sense of humor, or social skills to be Bruce Wayne?" Bruce nodded both were fair, and only partially true.
"A man whose parents were murdered in front of him, by a mugger, when he was eight years old; who attended two years at M.I.T. as Tony Stark's roommate; who left the country for ten years to unverifiable locations, but reportedly getting expelled from multiple universities; who returned to Gotham exactly one month before Batman made his first appearance; who has nearly the exact same number of children as Robins'; who lost a child, just as one of the Robin's disappeared; who happens to have excellent business skills; who has access to a multi-billion dollar fortune, and a company that provide him with the resources for everything he might need..."
He gave Hal a moment to think it over. "A person like that could never create distinct personalities in the name of justice. He would have had to work his whole life for that. Sounds a bit... obsessive, doesn't it?" It was no secret, even to Bruce, that this was one of his character traits.
