Sharon titled her head to the side but didn’t say anything. Again she couldn’t imagine what he was going through. She felt sorry for him but it seemed like it wasn’t her place to say it. He probably didn’t want another person to pat him on the shoulder and tell him that the world moves on. “I guess you can say you have gotten a second chance at life. It might not be the one you would had imagine but you are here.”
Sharon gave a little chuckle as she walked over and sat down in the chair. “Stalking my aunt, Captain?” She was teasing him of course. Looking at the fire for a moment. “Well, I can only repeat what was told to me. I grew up on her war stories. After you…disappeared, she went on and finished the war. After that she worked with SHIELD and then eventually worked in the CIA. But you already know that from her file.” Sharon locked her fingers together and looked down at them for a moment.
“My dad and his brothers and sister would have a family reunion every single year, in August, and she would come with her stories. Those were my favorite times…” Sharon looked like she was lost in thought at her memories. “I wanted to be just like her. We all did really. My father was a military man before going into Politics and I have several cousins and uncle would was also in the military. But I wanted to be just like her, joining SHIELD and going on adventures. Funny how things turned out the way they did. She did marry once; I think it was ten or so years after the war. I never met him as he died before I was born.”
Sharon cleared her throat and looked over at Steve, “She lived near us until about five years ago when she got really sick. Now she lives with my parents. My mom doesn’t have a job so she has company now. I talk to her every day.” She is my rock… Her mind finished the rest of the sentence. “You really do look like your pictures.
