"No, not down. Up!" She swung the toddler high up into the air causing Eira to let out a shriek of surprise and giggled laughter. She brought the child down and rubbed her nose against hers affectionately.
"We need to go back into the car now and check into the inn." Eira gave a frown, realizing quickly that she wasn't going to be let down. She let out a whine and demanded once again to be let down. Wanda gave her a stern look. "Now don't you start yelling. If you do, I won't take you to the playground. Don't you want to go play on the swings? Papa will swing you high if you behave."
Eira paused, seeming to ponder over her options. It was during this brief moment of quiet that Wanda took the chance to make her way to the car they had rented. "Play!" the toddler finally shouted and continued to do so in a sort of chant as her mother strapped her into her car seat.
"Yes, yes. We will play soon," she assured the child, before closing the door and sliding into the passenger's seat. She looked to her husband behind the wheel. "The inn is on Clark Street. Just off the main road into town."
