Re: Connor and Dinah and Effie and Open
Arrows usually shrugged and insisted they were fine. Often they believed themselves, too. Connor was definitely a deviant there. Tonight he seemed quite content and relaxed, though, if a little awkward for all the people.
"Oh, the chili," he said, shaking his head. "I'm sure food is not supposed to be both good and painful, but I've been assured differently." Just as he'd been assured that Oliver crushing him in a hug till he couldn't breathe was just fatherly affection. Thankfully he had caught on to something else in the family: if you weren't being picked on, something was amiss.
Thankfully, Diana was teasing him a bit now. "A secret-?" He gave a briefly baffled look before looking to Effie. He was sure she was probably just wondering if he dyed his hair like so many. "May I help you, miss?"
Then as soon as she started to speak, a large smile broke out. He recognized the voice instantly. "Effie Nashton! I'm so sorry. I only know you by your voice. You seem to be in much better spirits than last we spoke." When things had finally gone down, it had been a confusing mess. The prisoners had trouble keeping track of each other in the melee and race for freedom. "How are you faring?" He knew she had been doing poorly in the cell, going crazy without something to occupy her mind.
