Oh. Oh wow. That... stung for sure. There'd been a time, maybe much longer ago than she'd thought, when he wouldn't have given her that cold and disaffected look, when he wouldn't have had to pretend around her. Those days were long gone it seemed.
"Yeah, anytime." She said, forcing a smile that didn't reach her eyes and kept her eyes downcast when he walked away. Okay... she probably deserved that. Really, she should have stopped him- one day they were going to have to have a long conversation about what may not may not start happening at the press, but her courage had failed her and her mood plummeted.
"Right." She said resolutely, to no one but herself, and steeled herself up before leaving her own drink on a nearby table, untouched, and heading up to one of the balconies. Fresh air would be just the thing.
