Danny had not had it as bad as Matt by any measure, but that hardly meant his own life was not without its own complications. Many of which had not even borne bitter fruit yet, but he knew what was coming, even if there was perhaps little that he could do about it. The Skrull invasion had provided as great a distraction as he could have hoped for, along with putting back together the pieces of school and helping Luke with the damage that had been done to his bar.
Through it all, Danny had not forgotten Matt. Not in the least. It was more that he simply knew his friend enough to realize that he would need a little time after the horrible ordeal that he had been put through that went far beyond the physical. For Matt was the kind of person who brooded anyway, and the mere thought of what the Skrull Queen had done in his name would...
Well, Danny did not like to think of the worst case scenario when it came to his friends but he knew damn well that Matt could not possibly be in a good place. He had confirmed that much a week ago to find the brownstone in disarray still, and though he had been tempted to go to the presence he sensed inside, he knew better.
And while it still may not have been enough time he was at least comforted to see the progress that had been done in repairing the home as he arrived with a large brown bag under one arm. Chinese, naturally, that Matt would have likely smelled from around the block.
