Who: Nick Fury & Maria Hill
What: Nick kidnaps Maria outside the White House because they need to talk. Privately.
Where: Washington D.C.
When: Monday, February 17th [forward dated slightly]
There were many ways a President could spend President's Day; but consulting with the Director of SHIELD, Homeland Security, the Director of the CIA and several other important people in-the-know over the distinct possibility of alien invasion and attack was probably not high on the President's list.
The meeting was short- after all, they had to keep the veneer of normalcy to keep the citizens calm and under control. The last thing anyone needed was a riot starting in the middle of this because someone accused someone else of being someone or something that they weren't. Small fights and hate crimes had already been breaking out, but were generally quelled before too much damage (or injury) could be done and that was how the government intended to keep it until the crisis was over.
It was no little thing, to kidnap the Director of SHIELD, particularly not from the White House- one of the most well-guarded buildings on the planet. Nick had started to regret his decision to not simply ambush her on the Helicarrier (at least there he knew the lay of the land. The Helicarrier was his as much, if not more, than it was ever hers and he knew the ship like the back of his hand), but time was of the essence and he didn't have any left to waste.
Which meant he would have to go to her- instead of manipulating her to come to him- no matter where she was spending her time.
It had been short work to dispose of the driver. The poor fellow had been smoking a cigarette when Nick came up, dressed in a sharp suit and looking every bit as though he belonged on the White House grounds, and knocked the man out when he leaned in to help Nick fight the wind to get his cigar lit. From there, he'd taken the man's hat and keys and got into the car with a conspicuously innocent whistle.
And when the meeting was over, he was already waiting outside, hat pulled down a little and waited for the valets to open the door for the Director to get into her standard SHIELD sedan- complete with perfect SHIELD licensing and credentials.
"C'mon girl." He muttered to himself, flexing one gloved hand against the steering wheel and watching the open back passenger door through the rear view mirror. As soon as the driver came to, or was discovered, the jig would be well and truly up-- and as part of the elite club of Interpol's 'The Top Five Most Wanted', the White House was not a place where Nick Fury wanted to be discovered.
