Danny had not thought that Matt seeing through his eyes would be so painful, so difficult. By the way his friend looked, he may as well have shined a spot light into his eyes after he came out of complete and total darkness, such was the expression on his face. Danny felt guilty for that, and in that feeling, realized he should have warned him. Prepared him. But if he had, would Matt have agreed to go through with it?
He put a hand on Matt's shoulder and squeezed, both to try to further anchor him and as an expression of camaraderie. Maybe he had gone too far, too fast. So while he did not yet close the connection between them, he began to speak in soft tones.
"We can do this again, if you want. Anytime you like. I can show you colors, places, people.. whatever you want. I wish like like Hell I could really give you your sight back." He shifted and soft of gave Matt a half hug.
"Maybe someday we can come up with something better but for now, I'm more than willing to let you see through my eyes. If you want, I mean. I know how personal this is but I.. I just thought you might like it."
