Rose wasn't really eying Connor per se at moment, though it was likely he assumed she was staring at him. People tended to do that when they encountered a person with just one eye -- they assumed that eye was fixated on them.
She was staring straight ahead, trying to figure out how to go about asking for food that would actually be real sustenance. However, the very act of doing so was making her feel small, pathetic and helpless -- words that should never be used to describe her.
"...Isn't there anything else?"
She pushed her bowl away from her, waiting to be, well, waited on, more or less.
