There were many ways to shake off S.H.E.I.L.D., now that he was aware they could track his magic signature easier and knew quite a few of his guises. The easiest way was to simply stay invisible and out of sight entirely--but that just did not settle all too well with the God of Mischief. After all, what fun was a jest if no one knew but the jester? Yet, he had already given a very clear warning to them that he was about, and they would be looking for him to act on that little threat. But not yet. It would be on his schedule, of course. Some of Loki's dimensional business was complete, he had read a dozen new books, and now he had an old ache bothering him.
Thankfully, he knew very few realized how advanced his magic arts were, especially in the difficult field of shifting one's shape. Loki's was in no way limited to a humanoid form. In fact, he'd spent years as different animals before (alas, often just to let tempers cool and to stay out of further trouble). He was sure some suspected, but if he performed the magic far away and spent his night as a simple cat getting from point A to point B, it was much less likely that anyone suspected the stray black kitty with its medium hair to be a nationally wanted criminal.
So it was that morning that Wanda heard a soft scratching at the door of her apartment, and when she opened it, found a small animal waiting. The black cat gave a small pause, fluffy tail flicking as it looked in, then trot in decidedly past her legs, black paws barely making a sound.
