Re: Dinah and Bruce
Bruce laughed. He hadn't even considered that interpretation, but it was completely appropriate. "I would never be that ham-handed, although it is the sort of play on words I thrive on." Definitely something he liked - the pleasure of double entendre going over everyone's heads. It was like a game to him, seeing how much he could get away with. It had been so long since he'd considered Bruce Wayne his real self in any conventional sense that it was only occasionally he was reminded that there was anything particularly depressing about it.
Like now. Dinah laughed, and the twilit car filled with the sound of it, making Bruce want to laugh with her, even though he had no idea what he'd said or done that was funny. In no aspect of his life was there anything like this, this easy, relaxed atmosphere where he could either be completely himself, or let go of it entirely, and it would make no difference. There was no pressure to do or be anything, and Bruce found he liked that. It surprised him, because he shouldn't have. He liked her company, and he liked the way she laughed without inhibition.
He liked... her.
"Dinah." Waiting till she recovered, he reached out to cup one of her cheeks, brushing away mirthful tear with his thumb before kissing her.
