Bruce made a face at her. "Don't be ridiculous. I'd give away everything I own first." The only thing his money and property did for him was give him the opportunity to further his cause. With his privilege, he could be influential and with his money, he could help the people of Gotham in ways he could not as Batman. He could also finance his operations more fully with his wealth and through his business resources. His home and property provided a convenient base of operations, but if he didn't have any of it he would still be Batman. He didn't need it.
"No," he agreed with a chuckle. But looking at her with honest appraisal, he spontaneously commented: "But it would be tempting to try." He wasn't sure why he said it, but after a pause he smiled. "It's a good thing I'm a gentleman." Even one who was trying to stand between her and her funnel cake.
Grinning broadly, he held the funnel cake up out of her reach teasingly for just a moment before finally offering it to her. Turning them both toward the row of booths housing the games, he said, "You're still getting a Batman. I insist."
