Re: Dinah and Bruce
"No, no," he laugh - laughed. "Bringing the house down is my job. And I have plenty of chandeliers if I ever get the urge." Although truthfully, he'd been tempted more than once to just be done with the whole thing more than once, and in a grand, dramatic style befitting his way of life. He managed to resist.
Bruce hadn't been to a carnival... since Dick was a boy. Jason wasn't much for that sort of thing and actively avoided most of the things Dick enjoyed anyway. But Dick had been drawn to every circus and carnival they were capable of attending, and it had been years since he was young enough to ask Bruce to take him. "I bought a circus for Dick last year ago for Christmas," he said. "They happened to be close enough to do me a favor." It was an extravagant gift, by any means, but meaningful for them. "It's been years for me, as well; since he was a teenager."
Looking away when she mentioned Danny, he glanced toward the stage where the students had recently performed, a slight crease in his brow. "He appears to be doing some sort of penance." Bruce's shoulder lifted a fraction of an inch in an uncharacteristic shrug, his voice a note deeper. "Children are a big part of the Foundation's work and I thought the kids would enjoy the party."
