At that Cissie scoffed. "Of course I did. It's your birthday. They only come one a year and you need to celebrate. And you definitely have the party down," she said glancing around. "Which leaves presents!" She couldn't help but grin. "I hope you like them!" And she did! A birthday required presents. It didn't matter if you knew the person well or not. There were rules! And more importantly, the birthday girl should enjoy herself.
"Yeah," she shook her head. "Truthfully? Sometimes I wonder? All this stuff to make the students happy to make their parents happy to get them into a good college." She sighed. College. That was a whole other can of worms. "Don't get me wrong, I'm liking the school, they have... well... everything? But I think I might be happier if I were in public school. One of my friends transferred last year and I was basically left to my own devices." She shrugged.
Cissie felt herself blush slightly. "Well did they at least bring presents to pay for their admission?" to her this was amusing. "You only 18 once, the bigger the better!"
