If there was one thing his time in MI6 taught him, it was to take sleep where he could get it. Unlike many of the people on that overnight flight from Heathrow airport to New York, he'd been able to doze right off with a neck pillow and some earplugs to block out the ambient noise. The long cab ride from the airport to Westchester county was spent half asleep. He didn't fully sleep, due to the general public attitude toward mutants. He'd be able to catch a nap later, or go to bed early to recover from the jet lag and the five hour timezone difference.
All of his possessions that he'd bothered to keep fit in a single large suitcase. After the cab driver was on his way, Manchester carried the suitcase along with his telekinesis, preferring it, at this point, to pulling it along behind him as he strolled up to the front door.
He was pretty sure Professor Xavier would be able to detect him approaching, but nonetheless, he decided on a little telepathic call ahead.
