Who: Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd Where: A seedy pool hall, New York City When: Saturday, July 13th What: The twins meet up for a belated birthday drink. Rating: PG-13ish?
The pool hall was located in a less upscale part of town. It had a wooden sign outside proudly proclaiming it had been established in 1987 and the windows were decorated with neon lights advertising the beers on tap. The interior was surprisingly expansive. It had an old wooden floor and all the furniture had a haphazard style. The bar stood by the exit and seemed like the only thing part of the place that saw regular upkeep. Beyond that, stretched rows of billiard tables, each with faded felt that stood in a sort of single file.
Tommy had texted Billy the address and the time and had said he'd met him there. He had been early and was currently relaxing at the bar having a drink. Rose would probably like this place. It didn't have the perks but it also didn't have drunken college students making assholes out of each other, even though they didn't card. He finished his beer and checked the clock above the bar.
Billy should be showing up any time, probably with Teddy in tow. Those two were always attached to the hip. Tommy didn't really mind. Teddy'd been surprisingly decent about everything. Tommy was a little surprised that people hadn't made a fuss about him quitting. He thought fore sure that Eli would have had something to say, not that he was complaining. He didn't want to hear the lecture. The guys had five minutes before they were late, just enough time for Tommy to grab another beer.
