Who: Blue Beetle(Jaime!) and Booster Gold
Where: Bank in New York City
When: July 9, 2013
What: Jaime responds to a robbery and runs into Booster
He was spending a lot of time in Manhattan. At least he had been able to bring his family last weekend, and Milagro had loved all the lights of the theatres, going to visit the Statue of Liberty - and especially the M&M store. But Metropolis was brighter and shinier, so Jaime felt grateful that she wouldn't be quite so jealous of his frequent trips in the future, as long as he remembered to bring her back something small each time. 'Small' being the operative word; he didn't have a ton of money, or a job. Maybe it was time to think about that.
Mr. Kord was proving to be surprisingly elusive, but Jaime was enjoying the opportunity to explore both Metropolis, New York City, and all points between. The scarab was still giving him trouble, still giving him problem-solving suggestions that were far too violent for practicality. When Jaime had gotten frustrated helping his father change the oil in the family car, the scarab had recommended incinerating the '66 Dodge, Coronet with plasma cannons.
The alarm from the bank sounded in his head as the scarab picked up the frequency and alerted him to its signal three blocks away. It was already enrobing Jaime in the blue exoskeleton of armor as he ducked into an alley that thankfully happened to be nearby. A man in kitchen whites stood in the side entrance to a Vietnamese restaurant with a garbage bag in his hands and Jaime nearly collided with him. Unfortunately, he was too busy throwing up in his suit to properly apologize, and as he took to the air, heard the man shouting something at him, which the scarab helpfully translated.
"Yeah, well, it wasn't all that pleasant for me, either," he muttered. "Now, where are we going?"
Scarab focused his vision in on the energy patterns so that Jaime could see the bank, and he headed that direction, scanning for any signs of activity to help him find out what was going on.
