If only Billy knew. After his recent captivity, Teddy had been struggling to not outright cling to his friends. With Billy being distant, Mia had received the brunt of Teddy being people needy, and whenever he did find himself alone he quickly threw himself into exercising or watching movies to keep himself distracted.
Teddy sidled up closer, leaning his forehead against Billy's and smiling. Billy was trying--that made all the difference. What would he do if Billy had given up, just distanced entirely and not let him near that shell of seeming apathy he had been keeping? Teddy didn't like that thought. It made him feel like glass inside.
"You'll be eighteen," he agreed quietly. "Legal." He brightened, hoping to lighten the mood and draw Billy further from his sullen mood. "Will that mean I'm not a cradle robber anymore?"
