Who: Tony, Dinah, and Bruce NPCs: Briefly Alfred When: 5/14, night (backdate) Where: Batcaves and other Wayne properties What: Tony gets bored and crashes the Dinah/Bruce slumber party at Wayne Tower. Rating: Probably low, but you never can tell with these guys...
The upside of having a friend who's made himself into the terror of the underworld and pretty much anyone else was that getting bailed out of jail was quick and easy - Area 51 notwithstanding - and he had the most comfortable hideaway a fugitive could ask for. Well, at least the most interesting, given the sheer number of mechanical toys tools hanging practically in front of him, with a few bypass codes. And once he'd gotten out of the armor, showered, and eaten, he'd needed the tactile stimulation to stop his mind from racing away from him on hypothetical and beautiful mathematical formulas.
The no-contact rule didn't even make his shoulder's twitch, not initially; on a secured line, he could give an incredibly brief all-clear to those most worried about him, and then keep his head down and go back to work, frantically getting out all the ideas into some sort of solid form before they danced away from him.
But after the relief of freedom had run its course, after he finally could take a step back and breathe...he was sitting in a cave, no matter how technologically advanced, and while he could of course go up to the Manor and keep away from all windows and exterior doors, he was still watching the world wobble dangerously towards chaos and couldn't do anything about it. The armor was repaired and safe, but the rest of his responsibilities couldn't be locked away in a cave.
So he did what he always did when he didn't want to think about something; he went off the tracks.
But really, he was bored sitting in the kitchen, even if Alfred was happily feeding him, and he really couldn't have helped overhearing the phone conversation requesting supplies for what had to be another fugitive. He watched curiously as Alfred packed a feast, and really, what else was he supposed to do when another phone call distracted him?
Tony grabbed the supplies, even left a note, and headed down to the Cave to have his pick of the Batmobiles. The thought that Bruce was going to kill him for this just crossed his mind as he settled into the cockpit - as advanced as the vehicles were, they had to be cockpits and not drivers' seats - and brought up the HUD before starting the engine. "Now, if I was Batman and stashing a fugitive in a place that wasn't the Batcave... Satellite cave." Laying in the course, Tony floored it.
The Batmobiles were made to be stealthy on the road; no lights, hardly even the noise of the engine, ridiculously mobile. It meant they really needed a good handler, but he had some experience with that, though less than he'd like. It meant he wasn't at all sorry for stealing the car or inquiring as to if he'd broken a record to get here - man, he missed JARVIS. JARVIS would have been able to answer that.
The layout was similar enough, though smaller and sleeker, that he could tell at a glance there was no one here but him. Which meant they were upstairs. Juggling bags of various goodies and necessities, he hit the button for the top floor of the elevator, and casually strolled out to a much more interesting scene. "There's a brunette in your bed, and don't glower, I got bored and it's your own fault I got to the point where I needed to make a break for it on my own. Are you actually watching TV?"
