Who: Batman & Robin and X-23 Where: Gotham City, New Jersey When: Sunday, May 12th What: It's Mother's Day in Gotham again. X-23 is on the lookout for ninjas which means stalking Damian and Bruce. Rating: PG-13
It wasn't as if Damian wasn't aware of the date. He'd written his mother approximately a week and a half ago, a proper correspondence with pen and paper, which he'd given to Pennyworth to mail. In truth, Damian had no idea of knowing where his mother was staying as of late but he was sure it would find its way to her eventually.
He wondered if he should feel more conflicted about the date but then decided against it. He'd made his choices and so had she. Conviction was more useful than regret. Besides, the less he had to do for the occasion, the better. (He was more relieved that his father hadn't tried to shoehorn Kyle into the holiday. That would have been... unwelcome.)
Mother's Day had been exciting last year but Damian wasn't expecting a reprise. The attack had been a cry for attention, of sorts. This year, Mother knew that he knew that she knew exactly where he was and who he was with. She probably wasn't pleased at the notion of her son jumping from rooftop to rooftop in colorful, distracting garb and that was the main point of contention.
There was nowhere Damian would rather be. They'd taken the car into the city but had tucked it away a few times during the evening either for a lower profile or a closer look at things. Crime didn't stop in Gotham just for a holiday. Crime never stopped in Gotham, period.
