When the Fantastic Four went out, even casually, they tended to draw a lot of attention. Sure there were tricks of the trade, sunglasses and baseball caps for Johnny, or invisibility for Sue (which was clearly cheating) but Ben tended to draw a crowd wherever he went. Things almost always ended up in an impromptu autograph session or photo op.
Thanks to recent events, their popularity had gotten a little boost wasn't wasn't unwelcome even though it was for completely all the wrong reasons. (Wanda. Who would have thought?) It might have been better to keep a low profile rather than be hounded for sound bytes but the last thing the Fantastic Four refused to do was to become prisoners in their own home.
It had taken a few phone calls and a pretty penny but the group had managed to get a book a private room for a Mother's Day brunch. It was Sue's first year as a(n actual) mother and they were all determined to do this right.
Ben had carried in the bundles: six boxes, two cards. Johnny had decided to flirt with the hostess, which left Reed to show Susan and Franklin to their seats. Technically, the gifts were supposed to come after the food but considering this crowd...
