"Yeah." He agreed solemnly. It really did suck. He poked at his pancakes a little more with his fork, trying to think of something else to say. What'd they say in the movies after people broke up? Stuff like... 'it's not you, it's me', or 'we can still be friends'-- but that was weird because hadn't they always been friends? And they weren't even yelling at each other like people did in sitcoms and dramas. Maybe this was just one of those weird artsy movies that probably had subtitles and ended up being about enchiladas or something and no one understood it.
It kind of felt like that, really, because Bart sure didn't understand.
"Do you want to get a milkshake or something?" He paused for a second, looking out the window, then looked back at her a little nervously, "uh... your cousin isn't going to beat me up because of this, right?"
The last thing anyone needed after their heart got kicked in the butt was to literally have your butt kicked by Superman.
