Dinah started to smile at Babs when she came over, moving aside a bit to make room for her friend. That's what she saw the way Babs was carrying herself and though she didn't quite catch the grimace, the look on Babs' face made her frown as she drank her beer. "Hi." Dinah said, watching Barbara with that same investigative eye that she would fix on a clue to a larger puzzle-- which was exactly what this was. So Babs was tired, and moody which led Dinah believe that she either hadn't slept (which wasn't all that rare in itself) or she had slept poorly. She'd dressed, and nicely too, so she wasn't sick, despite ordering ginger ale. It was something else.
Dinah was about to open her mouth to get to the bottom of it when the waitress brought over a new beer for her and ginger ale for Babs and a note. She read it over and showed it to Babs, a smirk spreading across her face. Dinah glanced down either side of the bar to try to locate their mysterious new partner who apparently liked to play games. She leaned across the bar to borrow a pen from the waitress and flipped the napkin onto it's back, scribbling a return note. Dinah handed it off to the waitress with a conspiratorial wink at the other woman, who smirked and returned it to the original sender.
You caught me. I'd rather have some of your sake (but only if it's warm). -Dinah Lance
