"We can grab something to go, if you want." He would be lying entirely if he said he didn't want Linda at the house so the house felt more like a home again. With just Bart and him it had felt so much more quiet and empty (unless they were sniping at each other over some small thing or another). But at least it was clean (well, except maybe Bart's room, which he tried to never go into).
"There's a new stray cat in the neighborhood. I already told Bart no. I figured out where that little rattle was in the car. Just a loose piece inside the dash." He started filling her in on the mundane going ons at home and work, picking up the suitcases and escorting her out of the airport. He talked animatedly, just happy to be around her again, even if he knew a lot of the talk was probably only skipping off the surface of her tired mind. He opened the car door for her.
"Oh, and Jesse and I registered. She took in an army of lawyers, apparently. Man, I wish I was there to see their faces."
