"Luggage," he said with a chuckle. There was a reason he had brought the car. Not for the first time when it came to Linda, he felt hopelessly clumsy and unable to keep his too-swift thoughts straight. The thought of sweeping her away to home had jumped ahead of all other sense.
Thankfully, even as obviously jet-lagged and tired as she was, Linda helped keep the common-sense things straight. Gawd, it felt good to hug her, knowing she was going to be home tonight! It wasn't like distance truly separated them. He had ran to her often while she was away, but they were crazy busy. It had also been hard to sleep without her home. Wally had slept with her pillow under his nose most nights, but he didn't sleep nearly as solidly as he did when she was there.
He gave her another squeeze, kissed the top of her head. "All right. Suitcases. Car. Are you hungry?" He went to her side, arm looped about her waist as they walked to the retrieval belt that was dumping baggage with its tags to search for her suitcases to grab up.
