Re: Bart + Maxine + Open
He looked up when someone spoke to him (he thought at least) and finished the song, absently adding a few bars of 'Shave and a hair cut, two bits' as he smiled at the girl. He reached over the guitar to shake her hand, "Hi I'm Bart!"
Bart looked around the protest for a second then looked back to Maxine, "Um. It's kind of a protest against the President's Meta-Human and Mutant Registration Act. " He wasn't great at being a politician, but Bart figured the whole point of a protest was to talk to people about the issues, right?
"Uh. We don't think that people who are different should have to like... register with the government. Some people are born different you know? And sometimes things happen to people that make them different. And just because you're born different doesn't mean that you should have to be regarded as a danger to society, right? I mean because if they did that then what's next? Are they going to make all minorities register? What about LBGT people? Or all Catholics or Muslims or Jews. Germany did that once..." He said, frowning a little and shrugged. Yeah. Politics weren't really his thing. But he was definitely happy to show up and support Cissie and the cause.
"Oh hey! Did you see? Captain America is here!" Bart said, nodding over towards the main protest where Cap, Cissie, and the President were having a tense moment. It took Bart a second to figure out what exactly was going on, but when he did, he turned to Maxine and grinned.
"Hey, watch this!" he shouted before jumping up onto a spare table that had been left out in the middle of Time Square from the surrounding restaurants and hot spots.
He didn't have a microphone or an amp, so he had to shout more than sing- but Bart was nothing if not loud, and hard to ignore as he started to play an appropriate song.
