Who: Felicia Hardy & Mercy Graves (written by Katie!)
When: 3/7 [epic backdate]
Where: LexCorp facility, holding cell
What: Felicia gets shiny new powers..and is registered and under the service of Lex Luthor.
Rating: R for maybe some swearing
Mercy’s instructions had been to keep the fugitive blindfolded, cuffed, and under heavy guard until her orders came in from above. “Above” being the former owner of LexCorp, a title she currently held. And so Felicia Hardy had been apprehended, captured, and detained just outside of Metropolis, Mercy herself overseeing her detention.
Finally, the call came in and she listened, nodded, and replied with an “Understood, sir.” Hanging up, she next gave the order for Hardy to be brought out of her cell, and cuffed to a steel post in the middle of the room. The blindfold was yanked off, and into Felicia’s view came a number of armed guards, along with an annoyed looking woman with long brown hair.
“You were caught stealing from my company.” Mercy hated small talk, it was why she’d let Lex do all of it. Blunt and to the point got you to what you wanted so much faster. “You were caught breaking and entering into a guarded facility with the intent to take property that in no way shape or form belongs to you.”
“You did so at a time when I’m the owner of this company, not the bodyguard of the owner. You’re lucky in that way, because if you’d tried it before, I’d have broken your arms, legs, and dumped you in a sewer.”
--------------------
Felicia was not having a good day. She'd been caught and detained and had wondered for quite some time if her employer had anticipated this turn of events. It should have been a clean in and out job, but she'd been caught.
She was rather uncomfortable in her cell, but not as uncomfortable as she was when she got dragged into another room. They had blindfolded her and everything. They weren't nice about the handcuffing her to the post. The cold from the steel seeped through her clothes. Then the blindfold was yanked off and she squinted as the light flooded her eyes.
Face to face with Mercy, she blinked. She wasn't expecting the CEO of the company to be the one in front of her. Maybe some security lackey of some sort, but not the woman in charge. ...A woman in charge who liked to state the obvious. "I've always had a little luck," she said with a shrug. "If you're not going to maim me and dump me in the sewer," she started with her nose wrinkling in distaste. She didn't finish the sentence, waiting for Mercy to finish.
----------
Mercy sneered. “You’re also lucky that someone higher up than me heard about it and has a plan. Because maybe as I bodyguard, I’d have let you live. But as a CEO, I take break-ins really personally.”
She stepped forwards, still flanked by the guards. “The former owner of this company, we both know who that is. That’s the one I got my directions from. You’re not going to die. At least you won’t die from the repercussions of your decision to break into here. You’re going to get a chance to be, as he described it, “something better.”
Another sneer. “Honestly, I wish he’d just let me handle it.” To the guards, “Get her up on her feet.” Still cuffed, Felicia was pulled up onto her feet as Mercy moved towards another guard. “Get her arm ready, and if she moves, make sure she doesn’t again.”
-----------
Lex Luthor had taken an interest in her. That was interesting. "Something better?" she questioned. Mercy didn't seem so pleased with it, but that didn't mean Felicia was about to start smiling about whatever Luthor had planned. The man had a reputation in the underground. Sure he had money to dole out for charities and housing complexes, but he was also ruthless.
She hardly believed he was forgiving her for this.
Pulled to her feet, she struggled a little as they pulled her arm out. Eventually she stopped as a grip tightened to a painful degree on her wrist. "What are you doing?"
-----------
Another guard tied off her arm just above Felicia’s elbow. “This is the deal, this is why you won’t be dead or get a bunch of new broken bones.” Once a vein was found, Mercy plunged the needle in and depressed it without warning. “Don’t struggle, this shit is expensive, and I don’t fucking feel like going through this all again with you.” Removing the syringe, she stepped back.
“You’re now the proud owner of a cocktail of drugs laced with powers. Mr. Luthor thought that perhaps we should accentuate your feline aspects, so you can expect heightened senses, along with acrobatic capabilities, and strengths. You’re better than a mere human, but don’t expect to be doing anything too impressive just yet. It’s estimated that it takes about two days for all of this to configure to the person it’s been injected into. So don’t get any funny ideas about killing anyone and escaping.”
Stowing the syringe out of sight again, Mercy turned back to Felicia, crossing her arms over her chest. “Along with these new powers, you’ll find they’ve been registered under the Meta-Human and Mutant Registration Act. No, you don’t have a say in this. No, you cannot object, and yes, you now owe Mr. Luthor.”
“But for right now, your body is going to undergo a considerable amount of fatigue while it adjusts. Until then, I suggest resting up. Because after, we’ll be getting in contact with you again about how you are now going to help your country by bringing in heroes that won’t register.” She turned to speak to the guards. “Find a park and dump her there, or if she’s coherent enough, ask where she lives. It’s up to you where you end up stashing her, I sure as hell don’t care.”
Mercy started to walk away. “Congratulations on your new role serving the US, I’m sure you’ll feel very patriotic. And don’t ever try to steal from my fucking company again, or I’ll inject you with something that will end your life slowly and painfully.”
------
The needle looked questionable, but she didn't have much of a choice. It was get injected with stuff with arm in tact or with it broken. If it was intact, she'd at least have a fighting chance. Or so she thought.
The injection done, she listened as Mercy droned on about what had just been done to her. She went on to explain that she'd been registered and would be contacted? Felicia hadn't agreed to any of the terms listed, but it could have been worse. The woman didn't like owing favors and this was definitely a one-sided agreement that she would be forced to comply with until she found a way to snake her way out of it.
As she mentioned the fatigue it started to set on her legs began to turn into jello, "What..." Her eyelids became heavy and her body started to drop. She wanted to sleep as she was being dragged out, the last of Mercy's words barely dinging. Someone had said something about her home, she wasn't sure if she answered the question before all went black.
