Kate listened to her crew explain what happened, before they differed their attention to food. They were all the super powered ones that had experienced most of the crazy. She'd just had to sit back and hear about it. It was difficult for her, not being able to do anything about it. She'd thought about contacting Clint or even Coulson to discuss if there was any alternative, but she didn't trust them enough. They worked for the government. They worked for Luthor.
"The person in question," she answered Superman, "is not here. I apologize for that. He's usually better about contacting when he can't make it and Speedy's under the weather," she explained to the room in general. Attempts to get anything other than for or five texts out of her wasn't working. She planned on visiting her soon enough. "I'll let him know you'd like to talk with him. I'm sure he'll really appreciate it." She hoped he'd appreciate it. Superman was a busy big time hero. He was America's boy scout. While she couldn't say she was awed by his presence, he had a track record that garnered respect from her. He'd also taken the time out to come out and talk with them respectfully.
Then there was Conner and Kara. He'd done a good job there.
When he started rolling out the information about Lex Luthor, she could feel that he was talking about him on a personal level. It wasn't detached, though informative. She just frowned. Schools? Camps? The American public really was stupid or the Senate and House were weak. This was getting ridiculously out of hand very quickly. He had to be as brilliant as Superman said if he was getting stuff passed and built this quickly. It was actually comforting to know that they'd have some big guns on their side to protect them. Kate might not have had powers, but she'd protect her team and it's members selflessly.
She was about to thank Superman for his visitation and information. She was going to tell him that it was good to know that he was there for them, that they could count on him. Kate was gonna let him know that it was going to make them all sleep a little easier at night. But then he turned and told her she was amazing and smiled and all that went out the window. Kate wasn't sure how that worked, but she caught herself smiling back at him half a second in and schooled her face. Clearing her throat, she shifted. "Thanks. And Nightwing beat you to it."
