Kal listened to all that spoke, and noted the exchange of looks from those. A very mature group, as he'd heard, and it hurt a little to know that youths like these could be mature about such a painful subject.
"As far as food goes," a sidelong glance at Superboy with just the faintest hint of a smile, "if you'd like, I know a very good source of home-made pie in just about every flavor."
His super-hearing picked up Billy's whisper to Teddy, then he was concerned again, looking to Hawkeye. "He? One of your own... May I ask who? I don't need specifics, such as a real name but ... I'd like to offer my support to them. And perhaps some counseling privately. Or just words exchanged." The worried looked stayed as he looked back at Spider-Man.
"Lex Luthor is one of the most brilliant men on the planet, but that's about as complimentary about the man that I can say. He's twisted, self-centered, and ... unforgiving. My history with him is long and painful, and that's why I don't want to see the same things happen to anyone else."
A deep breath before he began to speak again. "We have reason to believe that the schools Luthor will be constructing are in fact camps for mutants and meta-humans. Why else would he want to sequester those who register aside like this? I want to keep as many of us out of these places, but ... if someone were to be detained inside, they would be a source of information. I cannot ask anyone to break into or willingly let themselves be detained inside, as I fear it risks the life of said individual."
"Next, the tests that are being offered, I cannot think that the information being gleamed from them will be used for their intended purpose. If you learn anything, please pass the information to myself or Batman, and then amongst yourselves. If you suspect that someone is in danger, again, get the word out. We are better in numbers and even better when we're all on the same page."
"We're unsure as to what happens once the grace period for registration passes, but I can't imagine that things will get easier. Help each other. Don't be afraid to ask for help. This fight isn't yours alone, and right now, you are all privy to each others support. I cannot put into words how happy that makes me." Superman's slow smile returned, and it turned proud as he looked at Hawkeye. "You're doing amazing work here, and I hope I'm not the first to tell you that."
