Superman cleared his throat to gather the group's attention. "I want to start off by thanking each of you for taking time out of your schedules to meet today. I wish there was a better reason for this to happen, but sadly there is not."
His tone remained calm, steady, and earnest as he continued. "The Meta Human and Mutant Registration Act" is going to effect each one of us, but not all in the same ways. Some of us do not have powers, and therefore, as I understand it, won't follow under its guidelines. Others are not residents of the United States, and I'm not sure what will happen in their case. A great many more of us will find ourselves under its laws and regulations."
"No matter what happens, above all, I do not want to see this divide hero against hero. We've done more good for this country and this planet together than we have ever done alone. And this Act, I believe, could be a source of contention, if we let it. I ask today that we at least try to pledge to help each other as much as we can, and understand. Especially those that will choose to register, and those that will not."
"I have spoken previously to Batman, and we have a plan thought out as to what our next course of action should be. But again, we cannot do it alone. It will take all of our help to ensure the safety and happiness of those blessed with powers and abilities."
Glancing among them, he shifted slight. "There is a reason, I asked this particular group together. You are all seen as leaders, some natural, some only after experience. But you are leaders still. Others like you will look to you for guidance and to answer their questions. Can I ask that you pass along the information that I will be sharing with you today?"
