Was he caught up in a Romeo and Juliet scenario? No... not exactly. But his parents had been. Why didn't they ever write stories about Romeo and Juliet's kids? ... Oh, right. Because they both died at the end of the play. And maybe that was how the story was supposed to end. But it hadn't ended there- not for his parents at least. And Bart still hadn't really decided if that was a good thing or not.
He shook his head reluctantly when Wally asked if it was about Rose. Sure, he could have said it was and blamed it on Rose- but she got enough stuff blamed on her as it was that wasn't always her fault and Bart wasn't going to add to that.
Maybe if he wasn't absorbed in his own thoughts, Bart would have noticed the way Wally turned red when he talked about his half-demon friend; but he was far too caught up in his own troubles and unruly thoughts to catch it.
Some people came from bad places, he'd said. That you had to judge them by what they did- not who their family was. Maybe he was right. Bart hoped he was right, or at least that he really meant it. He wasn't looking forward to getting shipped over to yet another relative's house after Wally kicked him out...
He took a deep breath and only managed to talk at a slow, regular pace through sheer force of will. And it still came out all jumbled.
"So like; Barry was my grandpa right? Because he's my dad's dad and Barry married your Aunt Iris so he's your uncle so we're you know... family, right? Okay so uh... well Grandma Iris- she brought me back here for you to fix me, remember? When my speed was all crazy and super aging? And then that was good and I'm alive and all-- thanks for that by the way. But so I'm still here because there's bad people in my time that are out to get me and..." no wait, back up. What all could he tell Wally? He knew he could share somethings- but other things were fuzzy. Like what happened if he told Wally that Eobard became the President of Earth? Would it mess the timeline up irreparably? Bart himself was immune to temporal fluxes (somehow, not even Max had figured that one out yet) but Wally? Probably not.
Sometimes Bart thought that either the Speed Force really liked him; or really hated him to give him that kind of ... special trait. Stupid thing.
"Okay wait let me start over. So Barry is your uncle and my grandpa- right? Barry had this like... okay this is weird but whatever... long-lost brother okay who ended up in the future and it's bizarre or whatever but in any case like... this guy, he hates Barry so much that he likes to go around trolling him a lot and like... doing really bad things. So they don't like each other... Well and then this guy, this guy has a daughter right? Meloni.
"Well and then Meloni grows up and she meets this guy, Don- Don Allen, okay? And they fall and love and they get married and stuff and they have a kid. Right so those are my parents. " He said, taking a deep breath and trying to get to the point, "My mom; before she married my dad okay... my mom's maiden name is Thawne. She's Eobard Thawne's daughter." He said, not looking at Wally at all now, but rather tearing a napkin up into super tiny little pieces.
"I'm kind of the Reverse Flash's grandson. And... I think if I register, everyone is going to find out."
