"It wasn't easy gettin' here, ya know? Everyone said I wasn't smart enough, that it was too much work for someone like me, so I had to prove 'em wrong. I studied really hard, stayin' up all night, not goin' out to parties, but by the end of the first semester I was failin'! I couldn't just give up so I started doin' what I do best." Harley trailed off, nursing her bottom lip as she considered the revelation her next words would bring. Her eyes flashed up to the man seated at her side, finding comfort in the interest he was giving her story. It was nice talking to someone about something she had never shared with anyone.
"I started flritin' with my professors. Nothin' harmful. Just li'l things to keep their attention on me and not on my poor work. I was still tryin'. I did lots o' studyin' but I started to have some fun and by the end of my first year I was top o' the class. I earned my spot, too. It wasn't always just short skirts and winks." Harley breathed a sigh of relief and sat up straight to look at her impromptu doctor for the day. "And here I am. Workin' on the biggest case any psychiatrist could ever hope to have. And I earned it!"
She leaned back in her chair and smiled at the pale skinned prankster in front of her. "Ya know what? I do feel better."
