Bart picked his head up. Someone was talking him and -- holy smokes it wasn't just a someone, it was a cute someone of the female variety (Bart had only recently stopped thinking that all girls had cooties).
"Hi." He said, smiling and holding his hand out to her to shake like all the grown-ups did. "I'm Bart. Bart Allen. I'm new. My Gr--my aunt Iris just dropped me off. I live with them. My Aunt and Uncle. They're my Aunt and Uncle. Today's my first day. I'm Bart." Bart kept step with her easily, although she was older and taller than him.
After shaking, he dropped his hand back down and held up his schedule so she could see it. "Do you know where... um... room 203 is? Freshman English?" He could have easily just run around the entire school until he found it- but he was supposed to be on good behavior; and he had promised Grandma Iris that he would try to make friends.
Bart looked past Megan to see a group of older kids pointing at him, at his poofy, statick-y hair and his giant feet. Now normally, Bart wasn't self-conscious like most freshman. He didn't usually think about things long enough to doubt himself; but high school was proving to be a completely new kind of arena. Bart looked away from the older kids and back to Megan, then down at his schedule again. He hated high school already.
