Who: Pietro Maximoff + Open to anyone at Xavier's School
Where: Xavier's School
When: Late afternoon, February 7th, 2013
What: Pietro decides to visit Xavier's. Because - why not?
Rating: TBA

Just because he in the past had found himself on the opposite ideological side of Xavier and his school children (that was always how Pietro thought of them) didn't meant that he wished them harm. Well he had wished them harm when they had gotten in his way, but in general he dind't waste his time feeling anything about them one way or the other. And really in the end, they were mutants as well, which meant that he guessed deep down he harbored some good will towards them.

Naturally he had not called ahead, nor had he told Wanda of his plans to visit the school. Although he supposed in retrospect he should have, if some of the people here weren't able to leave the past in the past, things might get heated. Pietro felt sure that he could handle anything that the Xavier residents might toss at him, but it would have been good to let his sister know where he was headed.

Speeding up the drive to the school, Pietro came to a stop outside the front door. He was coming in peace, but did he knock? No, he wouldn't knock. He'd just zip around the grounds an see if anyone was around.

Did you want to come inside? It is a bit cold out.

He had excused himself from the training area as soon as he sensed the new thought buzzing around the building. A person who thought very fast, and moved just as quickly.

Pietro's presence was a bit concerning as well. Magneto had visited not too long ago, and now suddenly one of his more notorious members was zipping around the grounds. Reconnaissance? Xavier wasn't sure, but he wanted to avoid violence on the grounds if possible.

So he sent the thought and waited patiently, observing the nuances of the response from his office.

Telepaths. Pietro liked all mutants because they were mutants, fellow warriors of the X-gene but he didn't like telepaths. Speaking into people's heads and the like, no Pietro didn't like that.

He didn't pause in his surveillance of the grounds - no it wasn't surveillance it was just him seeing what there was to see.

He didn't bother putting his response into words, not sure if Xavier would sense that he wasn't here to cause harm, was simply paying a visit. But he had been invited inside, so he finished circling the school grounds, and went for the front door, letting himself in.

Such a buzz... He had to concentrate with his eyes closed to comprehend the wordless pattern... Thoughts on their own went fast, but Pietro's were insanely so. But the sense wasn't malicious... anymore than his usual mood.

So the professor controlled his chair down the hall. Charles couldn't be sure why Pietro was here, but he wasn't eager to leave him to his own devices. And a past enemy he may be, but every now and then, people changed.

And he was always hopeful for that change.

Even so, Pietro surely had the facility thoroughly explored by now (cerebro and the training room were a little trickier to phase to). There wasn't too much to hide, and surely a few of the specialized students noticed, but nothing alarming had shot through the building yet. So he waited in the hall to greet Pietro patiently.

Bobby was crossing the hall on the way to the rec room when he saw the professor motoring by in his wheelchair with a businesslike expression on his face.

Uh-oh, something was up.

Bobby fell into step beside Xavier, about to ask what was going on. Then he saw Pietro Maximoff. They'd first met years ago during a battle between the X-Men and the Brotherhood. Pietro had changed sides since then, but given the state of the country and Magneto's renewed activity, there was a distinct possibility that the superspeed mutant had switched back. So he decided to play it cool. "Hey, Pietro! How's it going?"

Ahh, the Professor had brought one of his X-men with him. The Ice One. Even now when they were more or less on the same side, Pietro didn't like the ice one. He didn't like his jokes. All right, to be honest Pietro could find qualities in everyone that he dind't like, and tended to focus on those instead of the appealing qualities people possessed.

Crossing his arms over his chest, he rapped his foot on the floor as he eyed them.

"Your school is still standing. Still offering a space place for mutants? That is to the good. I hope the current political climate doesn't change that." Yes, that was his answer to how's it going, and it was more addressed to the Professor then Bobby.

Pete had "office hours" last period on Thursdays, which usually meant that all day he had to deal with students trying to get him to write them passes to leave their last period class for a chance to go goof off in the art studio. Such passes from this particular teacher were rare- and were usually only bestowed one or two at a time, and even then only to students who really looked like they could use some time away from the hustle and rush of the rest of the school to be alone with art supplies in a quiet studio with an equally quiet teacher. It could be difficult to just be alone at Xavier's, but Pete understood the necessity for it. Some of the kids had already experienced deep traumas-- and sometimes fighting the social battle that was being a teenager (and living with all your classmates)was the last thing such a kid wanted to do. So Pete tried to leave a space somewhere in the school where they could go and just... be.

Today, however, no such passes had made it into any student's hand, and Pete had left his classroom to find something to eat when he saw a... well... not quite a commotion- but certainly a gathering of people-- one of whom had an inability to stand still. Pete recognized him right away and was immediately on guard, glancing towards Bobby and the Professor to see if they needed any back up.

Charles offered a kind smile. "As I hope it always will. Even with the political scene being what it may, I think we will find more opportunities to create a safe have for mutants across the globe... Given time and patience."

Patience was the thing that often ran short with people. And who was he to blame them? It was difficult, and immediate change was desired, but not the reality. Being confined to a chair had been more than enough to polish Charles patience. For those like Pietro... well. Some virtues were more difficult than others.

I think he is here on his own. But I'm not sure why. He didn't even glance at his two staff members as they came to meet as well as he sent the mental message. He's still a... mercurial individual, but I do not currently sense any hostilities. And they both knew Magneto was on the move. These two in particular he kept informed of many things he traced through cerebro.

"Pietro, you have met Bobby before, and the gentleman over there, Peter." He decided not to mention that often they had met under much less favoring circumstances. "So, what brings you to the Xavier Institute this day? And if you are hungry I can see to some arrangement with the cafeteria."
