Girls liked Valentine's Day, right? That was pretty much a prerequisite for being a girl, wasn't it? Particularly when you had a boyfriend. Boyfriends were supposed to give girlfriends things on Valentine's; or else they got mad at you. Or so Bart had learned from T.V.
That was how the iridescent pink-hearted wrapping paper ended up in the basket... and the lavender-lace-esque ribbon. In his defense, at least they matched (sort of), even if they were the only Valentine's Day wrapping paper and ribbon that didn't feature candy hearts or My Little Ponies.
He was just on his way back with two heart shaped boxes of candy (the super big ones, because his love was super big-- and also Rose would probably like one too) when Wally grabbed his sleeve. Nearly slipping on the slick grocery store floor (he tended to run the grips off of his every day shoes pretty quickly), Bart pulled up short of the cart, halfway hidden behind red hair and boxes of candy.
"It's for Valentine's Day." He mumbled awkwardly (and at super speed, no less), tucking his chin down further and hiding how red his face got under his hair. "For Kara." He said, holding up one of the boxes that had a small white teddy bear packaged with it, "And for Rose." This one had a fake rose wrapped up in its red cellophane.
And no. Bart didn't think it was weird to get Valentine's of equal size, weight and value for both your girlfriend and a friend who was a girl.
