Spider-Man spun around, and for a moment there Miguel was half-expecting a fight. Then the guy in the red-and-blue started talking.
And talking.
And talking.
Miguel did a double-take, realizing Spider-Man's voice was a lot higher than he'd expected. And it cracked once or twice as he was commenting on Miguel's gravelly voice. Okay, so he had to admit, the voice was a put-on, and if he kept it up too much it hurt his throat. That was one reason among many that he didn't say much when he was in costume. But still ... "At least I don't sound like I'm just hitting puberty."
Miguel had found himself saying that in his normal speaking voice, which was still deeper than this guy's.
"'Spirit of...'? This is a 'Day-of-the-Dead' design. Do us both a favor, and don't insult my Mexican heritage, all right? But to answer your question, smart guy, I'm supposed to be Spider-Man. Visiting from the year 2099."
(Of the two S-Man voices in the link, I'm going with the second one, Christopher Barnes.)
