Who: Scott Free, Big Barda (OTA + Darkseid)
What: Scott does a show in Vegas and makes an attempt to declare his undying love for his lovely assistant- only to be interrupted by Parademons arriving via Boom Tube.
Where: Las Vegas, NV
When: Saturday, January 13th [backdated]
Rating: PG for epic failness and Apokoliptian spooks.
Notes: Does your character have an excuse to be in Vegas? Come out and see Scott's show (in case you missed it in Gotham)
Scott liked Las Vegas well enough- though honestly, despite his love of lights and flare and drama; the non-stop atmosphere surrounding Vegas could be trying, even for him. So he was glad that the two week stint, starting on New Year's Day, was nearly over and they could head back East and do absolutely nothing related to show biz for the next few weeks months.
The show was, of course, a hit.
It was basically the same show from Gotham with a few tweaks (and a brand new, thoroughly tested tank) but with a new, fresh audience who; though they had seen some amazing things in Vegas, had never seen the likes of Mister Miracle, the clown Oberon and Mister Miracle's lovely assistant, a woman who was well over six feet tall and didn't wear much other than a red bikini.
Scott had to agree that it was a bit distracting-- and ever since his conversation with Bruce where the subject of L-O-V-E had arisen, Scott was even more easily distracted around Barda.
He did. He loved her. Scott Free was absolutely, without a doubt, head-over-heels in love with the leader of the Female Furies who had been sent to drag him, kicking and screaming, back to Apokolips.
Now, Scott was no stranger to love. He knew the rules- and they had yet to be in his favor. But this was different than the love he had felt for Auralie-- bigger some how. If what he felt for Auralie had been an ember in his heart, for Barda it had grown to a full flame which was, all things considered, completely terrifying. As if things weren't complicated enough with Barda; now there was the additional little problem of Scott's being completely in love with her. Full commitment was what he was thinking of... and he was fairly certain that the way he loved her wasn't something she could get from any other guy.
But now came the difficult part: he had to hell her how he was feeling, had to make her understand.
Had to get Rick Astley out of his head or this show was going to bomb.
Oberon, noticing the performer's distraction, subtly pinched the back of Mister Miracle's knee which only made him flinch a little, and certainly did the trick of bringing him back to the show.
And that, right there, five seconds before the curtain closed after the finale-- that was when Scott figured out how he would tell her; his grand gesture to win Barda's heart in one fell swoop.
The curtain came back up for curtain calls, and Mister Miracle raced out to the front of the stage to give his bow before turning to present Oberon to the crowd. Oberon gave his own bow and then turned for Barda to take hers. Scott took her hand, "helping" her across the stage so that she could... do whatever it was Barda did for curtain calls. And then it was time.
Still holding her hand, Scott spun her around-- quickly, so she wouldn't dig her heels in and thwart his entire plan-- and dropped her into a deep dip, supporting her entire weight with only one arm as he reached up and-- for the first time in the history of any of his or Thaddeus' shows-- tore off his mask.
Then Scott leaned down and kissed her.
And the crowd went wild.
