Sue and Pepper
A little while into the evening, Sue had to sit down. She loved to mingle, but it was tiring. Her feet hurt. And she wasn't even wearing heels. Sue knew there were plenty of pregnant women these days who wore heels, but she'd given them up. And was secretly glad. Heels may be feminine, but they were also a bitch.
She smiled at Pepper over her water. "I'd thank you for sitting with me," she said, "but I think we both needed the break."
Even though this wasn't Tony's party, Pepper always seemed to be on the go. But then, these were the sort of functions that Pepper was suited to. She was a natural diplomat. And powerhouse. That was one way Tony was good for her, Sue mused. Pepper would go crazy with lack of stimulation.
