Re: Struggle at house - GenisVell
As she thanked him, Genis spared a small flourish. "Of course, darling." He smiled, but when the hostage in his arms started to shift and order the others, he scowled. The pain from the spikes she created was enough for him to let go of all but her wrist, though the damage was negligible.
He abandoned the attempt when Teddy's abduction became clear, grabbing the boy and trying to hold the strange arm back.
That was when he heard the distinct tink of metal on tile, turned and saw the explosive at J'nee's feet. He reached his hand out to her, wanting to yell, but his voice abandoning him, and the negabands, acting of their own accord, raised a shield around him and the boy.
He saw her die.
Genis looked at his half-brother. Teddy, still unaware that the woman that raised him as her own was gone. Genis felt something on his face that seemed alien to him, a wetness. He could not process what was happening, the bile in his throat, the way his body shook. He was crying. Something he hadn't done since he was a whelp.
His shield faded, and he glared up at the now-exposed menace. "I will kill you," he hissed.
