'Sorry Ms. Lane.' Jimmy turned the camera back on the robots and the chaos going on in Siegel and Schuster Plaza and the surrounding streets.
Lois maneuvered the two of them through the crowd headed in the opposite direction, her eyes darted around, taking in everything, including the threat to herself and her photographer. That was a lesser concern - it was always a lesser concern, though Lois did make an effort to be careful, even as she took notes on the action around her, making suggestion to Jimmy occasionally on where to take pictures. The last thing she wanted was to put herself or the kid in danger.
Until she saw the foot of one of the robot's swipe a storefront and heard the screaming voices from inside. Looking around, there was no one nearby who could help them, and there was no time to find someone. hurrying over, Lois carefully began to climb the pile of debris, telling Jimmy to stop nagging and help her so she didn't fall, and dropped into the store.
"Hey," she said, breathlessly. "There's someone on the other side to help you. If you're wearing heels it might be easier to take them off, but I'll help you climb on this side and Jimmy will be on the other side to help you there. We have to hurry though, so chop chop." Lois didn't know how long it would be before another kick, or a tremor might bury them, but she was going to get as many people out as she could before that happened
Taking the arm of the first person, Lois began hurrying her up the pile of rubble.
