Billy's life wasn't so eventful. In fact, it was downright boring. Well, if you counted practicing his electric shocks. After the first time, he thought it would be a good idea to get that in check, and, awesomely enough, he was managing to reign in the blasts pretty damn well. While at first, it seemed like he wouldn't know what to do, but the more he did it, the more control seemed to come naturally to him -- as if he'd been doing it his whole life (or at the very least, more than just a few times a month). Aside from that, Billy was in a bit of a self-help kick. He wasn't sure what caused the sudden interest in self-help books, but the idea of "self-help" intrigued him. It sounded all kinds of ambitious and empowering. Plus, who couldn't use a little self-improvement? Lately, he'd become something bordering on friendless hermit and he needed to change that. Put himself out there. So, after grabbing a few books--some for fun and others for class--he found himself in the self-help section.
Billy's fingers brushed along the spines of the books. He felt at pace here. He wasn't sure why other than he liked books. Maybe it was because at least at the book store he wasn't going to run into some of the kids from school. God, he couldn't even fathom the embarrassment if someone found him here in the self-help section. What would they think of him? "Wow, poor loser, needs a book to tell him how to live." Except it wasn't about that. It was about reading about other people's lives and what they did to make their lives better. Or something.
As if on cue, he heard his name and for the life of him, he wanted to die and he felt his cheeks go red. Wait, the voice didn't seem all that familiar. Glancing in Teddy's direction, his brow furrowed. He should've worn his contacts and for a moment he couldn't figure out how the --- blond? blond -- teen was, so he reached into his coat pocket and slipped on the black frames and raised his brows. Oh. That guy. He glanced around with an awkward, confused smile as the people stared at them and he returned the wave.
