Better than Iron Heights and the food was worlds above prison fare. Not that Pete made a habit of tasting prison food but these things happened - maybe not to everyone but certainly to him. Pretending to play nice was probably exactly what the Rogues were doing and it was a blood nuisance in Pete's opinion. Did the bigwigs really think there was going to be any reform involved here? They'd be lucky if they lasted through the hols without a bit of trouble that landed them back to square one. Oh, but that was his job
The suspicion was obvious when Mark ducked his head into the office and Pete Wisdom squinted for a long moment before answering. He was smoking, indoors, and didn't appear to be bothered by the broken smoke detector sitting next to his desk. It was noisy and unnecessary. If the place started to burn down, he didn't think the fire alarm was going to help much.
And setting it off was just going to make someone come in and yell at him. "Wot?"
